Volunteering

Volunteering

Volunteers work with our agency in a variety of ways including:

Clerical Aides
Information Technology Assistants
VCA (Volunteer Case Aides – supervision and monitoring services to clients)
Development/Marketing Assistants

CAUSES depends on the commitment of our volunteers and the time, energy and support they provide to the youth and families that we serve. Our volunteers are positive role models for our clients and assist the agency in our efforts to address the problem of violence toward children.

Reaching Out to the Community

Through DePaul University’s Community Based Service Learning Program, undergraduates volunteer at C.A.U.S.E.S. in non-clinical roles to learn about child abuse and integrate this knowledge with their views of personal and community empowerment, ethical values, and more.

Awakening Creativity through P.L.A.Y.

Young people who have been subjected to abuse and violence can easily become overcome with guilt, worthlessness, and other negative feelings. A coalition of artists, musicians, other entertainers, arts educators and mental health professionals has recently come together to form the P.L.A.Y. project-Possibilities in Life: Art for Youth. P.L.A.Y. raises funds and produces benefit concerts to enable C.A.U.S.E.S. youth to study music, visual and performing arts, then showcase their talents. Through P.L.A.Y., children are awakened to their own creativity and inspire families, friends, schoolmates, and others to pursue their dreams.
